At Computex 2025, Intel revealed key details about its upcoming Panther Lake CPU lineup, expected to be launched as the Intel Core Ultra 300 series. Aimed at notebooks, this new generation of processors is set to debut in early 2026, with mass production scheduled for the second half of 2025.
Panther Lake will be the first family of CPUs built on Intel’s 18A lithography, a long-anticipated manufacturing process. The processors aim to combine the strengths of the Lunar Lake (energy efficiency) and Arrow Lake (high performance) platforms.
They will feature new high-performance Cougar Cove P-Cores and high-efficiency Darkmont E-Cores, along with the debut of Xe3 Celestial GPU architecture, succeeding the Xe2 used in the Arc B570 and B580 GPUs.
During the presentation, Intel demonstrated various notebook designs and development systems running Panther Lake processors. While no benchmark results were shared, the demonstrations served to confirm that the chips are operational. Past statements from Intel suggest the Panther Lake CPUs could deliver up to 2x AI performance gains over Lunar Lake.
One Engineering Sample (ES) CPU on display had 16 cores and 16 threads, with a base clock of 2.0 GHz and a boost clock of 3.0 GHz. The chip featured 1.6 MB of L1 cache, 24 MB of L2 cache, and 18 MB of L3 cache, the latter showing a notable increase from the previous generation’s 12 MB. These specs are not final and are expected to improve by launch time.
Intel also showcased the tile-based architecture of Panther Lake. The processor will include five tiles:
- Compute Tile (CPU cores)
- SoC Tile (NPU and display components)
- GPU Tile
- I/O Tile (USB, PCIe)
- Filler Tile (for mechanical stability under the cooler)
More detailed performance data and the full lineup of models are expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.
