During the latest edition of Google I/O, the company introduced several updates, including the launch of Google AI Ultra, a new premium subscription plan. Contrary to what the name might suggest, AI Ultra is not a new artificial intelligence model, but rather a high-end service package offering advanced features and enhanced access to Google’s AI tools and platforms.
The AI Ultra plan is designed for power users who want access to Google’s most advanced tools, including expanded usage limits and priority access to cutting-edge technologies.
Key features include enhanced use of the Gemini AI model, extended capabilities for deep research, and early access to the upcoming Veo 3 video generation platform. The current version, Veo 2, is already included.
One of the most notable aspects of the plan is its price: $249.99 per month. For now, availability is limited to the United States, but Google has confirmed plans to expand to other countries in the near future, although no specific timeline has been given.
The subscription also includes a bundle of existing premium services. Users receive YouTube Premium, 30 TB of cloud storage across Google Drive, Photos, and Gmail, and access to Gemini integrated into various Google Workspace apps like Chrome, Gmail, Docs, and the new Vids platform. In addition, the NotebookLM tool—Google’s AI-powered research assistant—will be part of the offering.
Subscribers will also gain access to Whisk, Flow, and the Mariner Project, which are tools focused on advanced image creation, video production, and task management. These additions highlight Google’s aim to create a more comprehensive productivity and creativity suite powered by AI.
Google AI Ultra is positioned as a premium-tier service aimed at professionals, researchers, and creators who require robust tools and early access to innovation. While the high monthly fee may limit its adoption, the plan reflects Google’s strategy to monetize its AI ecosystem and compete with other enterprise-level AI platforms.
