At an event this Monday (May 19th), Huawei officially launched the already teased MateBook Fold Ultimate, a premium 2-in-1 foldable PC that works both as a traditional laptop and a tablet.
The device runs HarmonyOS, Huawei’s proprietary operating system for PCs, offering great integration with the company’s ecosystem of smartphones and tablets.
Weighing approximately 1.16 kg (~2.55 lbs) and measuring 7.3 mm (~0.28 in) in thickness when fully opened, the machine features a dual-layer LTPO OLED display. The screen measures 18 inches, supports 3.3K resolution, HDR Vivid, peak brightness of 1,600 nits, and covers the P3 wide color gamut.
One of its standout physical attributes is its 285 mm triple-stage hinge — described as the largest in the segment — which enables smooth folding and a stable range of motion between 30° and 150°, allowing partial folding to simulate a virtual keyboard.
Though not explicitly confirmed during the launch, the device is expected to be powered by Huawei’s first proprietary PC chipset, the Kirin X90, paired with 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB or 2 TB of internal storage.
For connectivity, it includes Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2, supporting peripherals such as wireless earbuds, mice, and keyboards. The 74.69 Wh battery supports 140W wired fast charging via USB-C. Additional features include the HarmonyOS for PC, native WPS premium suite, and extensive compatibility with other Huawei devices.

Availability and Pricing
Pre-orders are now open through Huawei’s official website in China. No official word about international availability was given yet. In terms of pricing, we have the following:
